A Review of The Jesus Book by Stephen Elkins

What a fantastic little book! "The Jesus Book" by Stephen Elkins is a great children's book. As the cover proclaims, it really is "the ultimate who, what, when, where and why book." It answers practically any question a child may have about the life and basic teachings of Jesus. Each subject is concisely covered in about one page with illustrations and biblical references.

What a great addition this would make to a child's library. For smaller children, a page or two could be incorporated into a bedtime reading ritual. I do not particularly care for the simple illustrations. However, the children seem to like them and I guess that is their target audience. This book also comes with a 30 song cd. It is especially loved by the younger children. It includes classics like "Jesus Loves Me," and "Do Lord." Overall, this is a fantastic little book for the children. I would definitely recommend this for parents, church libraries, grandparents or anyone else reading to a child or providing an older child with reading material.
